COMMUNICATIONS 
-describe a process in which two or more computers or devices transfer data, instructions and information.


SUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATIONS :-

• sending device that initiates an instruction to transmit data, instructions or information
• communications channel or transmission media on which the data, instructions or information travel.
• receiving device that accept transmission of data, instructions or information .

NETWORKS

- collection of computers and devices connected together via communications devices and transmission media.

EXAMPLES :-

LANs (LOCAL AREA NETWORK)

- connect computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as home, school or office building.

MANs (METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK)

- high speed of network that connects local area networks in a metropolitan area such as city or town and handles the bulk of communications activity across that region.

WANs ( WIDE AREA NETWORK)

- network that covers a large geographical area such as a city, country or the world using communications channel that combines many type of media such as telephone lines, cables and radio waves.
